Kang Eun Jeon is a postdoctoral researcher at SKKU, advised by Prof Jong Hwan Ko. He earned his PhD from HKUST under the supervision of Prof James She and Prof Jun Zhang, where he developed luXbeacon, an open-sourced energy harvesting IoT device (HW+SW). luXbeacon was deployed by over 10 industry and academic partners, including Hong Kong government agencies such as EMSD and OGCIO, for smart indoor navigation and COVID alert applications.
His recent research focuses on efficient AI systems for power- and compute-constrained edge devices. On the hardware side, he explores analog in-memory computing architectures, applying model compression techniques tailored to enhance hardware efficiency, as well as to mitigate analog non-idealities such as variations and faults. On the software side, he develops adaptive AI models that dynamically adjust precision at runtime based on resource availability and task complexity.
